Our Commitment Through Partners

Greentec for Impact e.V. and Tamu Tamu

Greentec for Impact began its work with a pilot project in a women's village—a place where women live with their children and manage their daily lives without the support of men. This first project was the starting point of their mission: to help women build self-determined, economically independent lives and actively shape their own futures.

The focus of their work is not short-term aid, but rather the creation of long-term livelihoods. Greentec for Impact provides access to infrastructure, education, and income opportunities to empower women and give them the means to take responsibility for themselves, their children, and their community. The goal is to create stable structures that enable security, dignity, and genuine future prospects.

This pilot project and the philosophy behind it also inspired Tamu-Tamu. Our collaboration is based on the conviction that entrepreneurial success and social responsibility belong together. We want to support Greentec for Impact in achieving its goals—both through a financial contribution from our economic results and through concrete forms of cooperation.

This means that we award contracts, create income, and have products for Tamu-Tamu developed in these communities. This creates a cycle of value creation, participation, and impact—driven by mutual respect, long-term thinking, and the common goal of creating sustainable perspectives.

First-time access to electricity

Together with the women of Unity Village, we have created a solar-powered community hub – the new heart of the village. Ten solar panels on the roof now capture the sun's power every day. They provide light when darkness falls, enable mobile phones to be charged, cool food and goat's milk, and even power a small radio station that connects the village to the world.

For the very first time, the women and children of Unity Village have access to electricity. When the lights came on for the first time, it was a deeply moving moment. Laughter filled the air, music played – and the whole community danced deep into the night.

The Next Project: Clean Drinking Water

Access to clean drinking water continues to be one of the biggest challenges for Unity Village.

In June 2025, we succeeded in reactivating a nearby borehole – just 100 meters from the community. When the first drops of water flowed from the well, it was a moment of profound joy and relief. A moment that offered hope and showed: change is possible.

However, subsequent tests made it clear that the groundwater in its current form is not safe to drink. A reverse osmosis system would be too costly and technically difficult to maintain in this remote region. That is why we are currently looking for alternative, sustainable solutions that are reliable, low-maintenance, and suitable for off-grid regions.

Our goal for 2026 is to implement a long-term water system that will permanently supply Unity Village with safe drinking water – and can serve as a model for other communities facing similar challenges.
